Starting for the Lady Bulldogs were Haleigh Garcia, Sara Saenz, Kellie Moya, Tessa Gregory, and Kailey Harless. Garcia scored four points in the first quarter; the Lady Yearlings led 4-12 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter proved to be a defensive quarter for the Lady Bulldogs. Harless and Gregory played great defensively with three rebounds each in the second quarter. Garcia had two points and Saenz had four points in the second quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs played so well defensively that they stopped the Lady Yearlings from scoring in the second quarter; the score at the half was the Lady Bulldogs with 10 and the Lady Yearlings with 12.
Going into the third quarter the Lady Bulldogs came out strong and once again played great defense. Kellie Moya and Mia Castillo hustled for the ball, and each had one steal. Garcia scored two points in the third quarter and had four rebounds. Amber Mendoza played aggressively and had a steal in the game.
The fourth quarter the Lady Bulldogs continued to play hard. They hustled for the ball and made good shots during the fourth quarter. Garcia had four points and Tessa Gregory had two points. Saenz showed her ball handling skills and broke through the Lady Yearling’s defense. Harless had an assist to Gregory, and even though the Lady Bulldogs came up short on the scoreboard, they played well on defense. The score was 18 to 23 with a win for the Lady Yearlings.
