Little Kickers, a parent-operated soccer league for children 2 to 5 years old has been formed in Live Oak County.

This league is not affiliated with any organization but is totally a parent effort to help little ones learn the basics of playing on a team and teaching good sportsmanship at an early age. Teams will be divided into 2- and 3-year-olds and 4- and 5-year-olds. The games will be held on Tuesday nights at the field between the pool and the Little League field at Three Rivers.

Registration will be held on Thursday, July 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dairy Queen in George West and from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dairy Queen in Three Rivers. The cost of $40 covers shirts and trophies.

According to one of the board members, parents will be required to present a birth certificate and to read and sign a waiver, as the league does not have insurance to cover accidents. A parent must be present at every practice as well as games. No drop-offs will be allowed in this program.
