Sophiab Pon was hired for the gas department at a beginning salary of $9 an hour.
And Jack Baker and Nelda Cantu were hired for the water department at $10 an hour.
The council also approved a recommendation for a $1 raise for Ramon Zuniga, bringing his salary to $10 an hour.
Also, Ramon Zuniga Sr. was given a $1 raise, bringing his salary to $10.50 and hour.
The council also approved several RV/trailer permits:
A fence is required to be installed before an RV can be placed at Abstract 33 William O’Docharty, Tract No. 58, on Hill Street.
Approval of a 12-foot setback was given on a variance to permit two manufactured homes on Block No. 28, lots 4 and 6, in the Three Rivers Townsite, East Martin Street.
A permit was granted for a RV/travel trailer for Block No. 105, Lot No. 15, Murray Hill Addition, on McMullen Street.
Two permits were approved for a brother and sister – one for an RV/travel trailer on Block No. 7, Lot No. 18, and one for a RV/travel trailer for Block No. 7, Lot No. 19 – in the Atascosa Addition (Calle Trejo).
A permit for an RV/trailer was approved for Block No. 1, Lot No. 14, on Windy Lane.
A mobile home permit was approved for Block No. 50, Lot No. 9, in the Three Rivers Townsite, on East Leroy Street.
Also, the council tabled action on adopting an ordinance amending water rates that do not include the CCN area. Preparation of the ordinance was not completed.
