Arena lights, cowboys, cowgirls, horses and steers – must be a Team Roping! The Brush Country Cowboy Church sponsored a #9 Team Roping on Saturday, Sept. 8th at the BCCC Arena. Almost two hundred teams competed for trophy saddles and prize money at the roping.

A “Cowboy Church Service” was held before the roping with Kenneth Lipton bringing the Word to a full house of contestants and their families. Cowboy Bibles were handed out to everyone who wanted one. The BCCC Chuckwagon Team was on hand with great food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Winners of the Team Roping are: First place Trophy Saddle Winners: Juan Martinez and Dusty Umphres, second place: Phil Bryant and Justin De La Garza, third place: Ronnie Gee and Cesar Cortez, fourth place: Justin De La Garza and Cesar Cortez, fifth place: Reno Molina and Justin De La Garza. Winner of the Yeti cooler that was raffled off was Ashlynn Coronado.

It was a great night of roping but one of the most impressive moments came after the dust settled and most people had gone. The Arena Team and volunteer workers gathered in a large circle to pray for all those who had been at the roping and for everyone who helped provide this opportunity to share God’s Word with others.

Brush Country Cowboy Church holds Church Service each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Bring your family and friends and come as you are. Everyone is welcome.
