The Celebration of Arts and Music committee met on Aug. 23 at the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers to plan our program for the spring of 2013.

Several scrapbooks were presented by Robin Dockery and Betty Dickenson that were donated to the committee by Wilma Herring and others. Our goal is to preserve the history of Music and Art in Live Oak and McMullen counties, and to present programs for the public to enjoy each year.

Being that 2013 is the centennial year for Three Rivers, the committee is requesting any old music recital or band concert programs that you might have saved over the years. Preservation of this history is very important to our communities.

Hopefully, some people out there will still have some old memorabilia that they will be willing to share with our committee. If you do, please contact Peggy Benham at 361-786-3187 or Robin Dockery at 361-449-7788. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated and preserved with the utmost care.

Please stay tuned for further details about a wonderful Music and Art program in the spring of 2013.
