George West baseball opened District 31-2A with a 12-6 loss Tuesday night to the visiting Freer Buckaroos. Freer’s Jake Acker struck out 10 Horns, but George West turned four hits, two walks, and four hit batters into seven stolen bases and still managed to score six runs.

Freer’s offense, however, benefit from nine walks and pounded out eleven hits. Seven runs in the fourth inning put the game away and dropped the Horns to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in district.

Senior pitcher Lucas Rannefeld pitched a complete game gem, and junior Russtin Miller broke the game open with a sixth inning, opposite field home run.
