Dorothy Mae Williams, 70, died on March 13, 2009.

In the last year and a half she fought a brave and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Dorothy was born on Nov. 29, 1938 in George West to Ben and Minnie Henicke.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ben Jr., Johnny and Walter Henicke; and sister Elizabeth Henicke.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 52 years Justin Williams; Shirley (Robert) Williams Long, Glen (Missy) Williams, Brenda (Rusty) Collins, Sharon Guttridge; brothers, Frank, Raymond, Gus, Charles, Alfred and Willie Henicke, and sisters Louise Staggs and Helen Collins. She also leaves behind an extended family of grandchildren, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, March 16, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors.

A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. Interment followed at Gussettville Cemetery in George West.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dorothy’s name to The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center P.O. Box 4486 Houston, Texas 77210.
