Lawrence David “Larry” Canaday, 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at a hospital in Corpus Christi following a sudden illness.

Mr. Canaday was born to A. Glen and Jennie L. (Tynes) Canaday on April 21, 1937, in Bluefield, West Virginia. He received his master’s degree and served as head football coach/athletic director in the public school systems.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Gambill) Canaday of George West; two sons, Jim (Kristi) Canaday of Leander and David Canaday of George West; three grandchildren, Alex Salazar Canaday of Beeville; Conner Canaday of Leander and Katy Canaday of Leander.

Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 18, from 3-6 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.

A graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. at the George West Cemetery in George West. Pat Traxler officiated the service.
