Carl Ames of Helotes caught a 15.27 lbs., 26.5 inches long with 21 inch girth shareLunker on Saturday (March 14) around noon. It is the third oversized shareLunker brought into the Calliham store to be weighed and measured this year.

Two weekends ago, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD Bass Busters) held their 30th Annual Big Bass Tournament at the Calliham unit. The first place prize was $2,000 and there were six $150 hourly Big Bass payouts. The winner was Wade Eichman with a nice catch weighing 11.22 pounds. A nice catch, that is, until this week-end’s haul blew the lid off, so to speak.

Brian from the Calliham Store reported that, this past weekend, another ShareLunker had been brought in to be weighed. The beauty, caught by Carl Ames of Helotes, weighed in at 15.27 pounds. The fish was 26.5 inches long and 21.25 inches in girth. Calliham Store is an official ShareLunker weigh and holding station.

Another angler brought in a bass the same day which weighed in at 12.33 pounds. Any other day, that would have been the catch to envy! This aspiring lunker was returned to the lake.

Grab your rods and reels, pick out your favorite lures and get out there. We need some local anglers to get their names on the list of ShareLunkers. Let’s not let visitors get all the glory. Send in your photos and tell us your tales - we are always ready for some tall ones!
