Miller awarded engineering scholarship

Marcus Miller was recently awarded The Cockrell School of Engineering Leadership Scholarship to The University of Texas at Austin. Scholarships were awarded based on criteria including class rank, ACT/SAT scores, leadership, and extracurricular activities. Marcus plans to major in Petroleum Engineering and minor in Spanish.

The Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin has consistently ranked among the country’s top engineering schools. Among engineering bachelor’s degree programs, the 2009 edition of U. S. News & World Report ranked the Cockrell School eleventh in the nation among more than 350 accredited engineering schools, and sixth among public institutions. The magazine surveyed deans and select faculty of engineering schools for its latest issue of America’s Best Colleges, and UT Austin’s departmental engineering programs were all ranked in the top 20: Aerospace, eighth; Biomedical, 19th; Chemical, seventh; Civil, fourth; Computer, eighth; Electrical/Electronics, 11th; Environmental, seventh; Mechanical, tenth; and Petroleum, second.
