The Bulldogs came out fast and opened up to a 10-0 lead, but the Pirates countered back and tied up the game at 14 all.
Cory Moya hit back to back three pointers and Marcos Cruz converted a steal into a layup to put TR up 28-18 going into the half.
The second half was all Bulldogs as they pressured and swarmed the Pirates, outscoring them 48-6 to finish the game.
Leading scorers were Tanner Johanson with 15 points. James Means and Marcos Cruz both poured in 13 points each.
On Nov. 30, the Bulldogs traveled to Charlotte and edged out the Trojans 74-58 for another win.
Early TR seemed to be in control as they lead 35-24 going into the half, but the Trojans turned it into a shootout as they rallied in the third and closed the deficit to three going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, the Bulldogs led by Wesley Guzman’s 11 points and James Mean’s nine points in the quarter shut the door on the Trojans. Guzman hit two three pointers and was 5 for 5 from the free throw line in the quarter. Guzman finished with a game high 22 points followed by Means with 19 points and Moya with 10 points. Tanner Johanson and Hagan Johnston finished with seven points, and Kalli Escamilla and Marcos Cruz had four points each to round out the scoring.
The Bulldogs take on the county rival, George West Longhorns on Friday, Dec. 7. The games are scheduled to begin with JV at 5 p.m. and Varsity following at 6:30 p.m.
