Edna Repka James, 95, of George West, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Mrs. James was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Poth to Anna Kopecky and Joe Repka. She attended George West High School and married Freeman Edgar James in Gussettville on Sept. 16, 1935. She was a retired clerk for Linney Drug Store and was the secretary to County Judge Bill Kendall for several years. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. George Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann (David) Thoms of Three Rivers; a son, Lamar (Tessie) James of George West; nine grandchildren, Suzanne Thoms Knowles, Jeffrey Thoms, Sarah Thoms, DeAnn Thoms Moore, Patrick James, Guy James, John Ed James, Tim James and Laura Kutac James; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Repka of Kaufman.

Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. A rosary was recited at St. George Catholic Church in George West at 10:30 a.m.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church with Father George Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the St. George Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Patrick James, Guy James, John Ed James, Tim James, Jeffrey Thoms and Jeffery Woomac.

Honorary pallbearers were Freeman James, Andrew Katzfey, Kullin Kutac and Carter James.

Arrangements were under the direction of Galloway & Sons Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
