Three Rivers junior varsity and varsity squads hosted the Freer Buckaroos and came out victorious in both games.

In the varsity game, the Lady Bulldogs got steady pitching from Megan Cruz who had 11 strikeouts in the contest. Freer got on the board first by taking advantage of some early walks and an error to go up 3-0. Three Rivers held Freer to scoreless innings in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings. After the 4th inning, Three Rivers held a 6-3 lead.

In the 6th inning, Christen Lerma knocked in Morgan Franke to give the Lady Bulldogs a 2 run lead after Freer scored two runs in the 5th inning. After a brief “blackout” – as the lights went out – play resumed with Three Rivers up 7-5 going into the final inning. Freer got one run after a missed pop fly by the Lady Bulldogs to narrow the gap to 7-6. With one out, the Lady Bulldogs appeared to have a double play to end the game but the batter was called safe at first, but first baseman Lindsey Amman then came back to throw to Kelly Barker to get the Freer runner out at home plate to preserve the lead, and eventually the win. The next Freer batter grounded out to give the Lady Bulldogs the win. Lerma was 1-for-3, Brittany Pullin was 1-for-4, Amman was 1-for-3, Ashley Gutierrez was 1-for-3 and Morgan Franke was 1-for-3. Allison Dugger had two stolen bases . Franke and Lauren Storey had 1 stolen base apiece also.

Winning pitcher for the Junior Varsity was Sarah Retzloff who only gave up one run in the game. The Lady Bulldogs won 14-1 to go 7-2 for the year. Michelle Luna had 2 hits and scored 3 runs in the game. Chelsie Gloor also had multiple hits and scored twice. Lindsey Zamzow had a hit and scored a run in the victory. Defensively Three Rivers got steady play from Lisa Puerto, Tina Tollackson, Kourtney Standlee, and Kourtney Salazar. The Lady Bulldogs got great hustle from behind the plate from Samantha Tadlock.
