George West baseball split two district games last week to remain in third place in District 31-2A. Tuesday the Longhorns beat visiting Three Rivers 12-2 to take sole possession of third. The Big Blue pounded out eleven hits, two by catcher Gabriel Garcia, who also drove in three runs. Holden Holm scored three runs, Riley Rocha was 3-for-4 with two doubles, and Brett Epperson collected three hits on the night.

The Bulldogs threatened every inning thanks to seven George West errors, but Lucas Rannefeld (4-0) kept his record perfect by throwing a six hit complete game.

In a battle for second place the Horns lost at Freer, 9-0. The Buckaroos limited George West to two singles--Lucas Rannefeld and Gabriel Garcia both earned hits--while the hosts collected eleven hits. The loss dropped the team to 8-10 overall, and 4-3 in district.
