RUNGE – A $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) of the shooting of a Wildebeest on a ranch in the Runge area.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., a greenish-blue minivan occupied by what appeared to be several individuals was seen parked at a back gate to a local ranch on County Road 113 just south of Runge, according to information from Game Warden Chad Moore.

“One of the occupants shot a bull Wildebeest on a local landowner’s high fenced ranch which was discovered the next morning and reported,” Moore said. “The description of the minivan appeared to be a greenish-blue in color, possibly a Ford or Chevrolet.”

Moore explained that he believes that whoever shot the animal, shot from outside the fence along the edge of the county road.

If anyone has any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s), the landowner has offered a reward in the amount of $10,000.

Anyone who has information concerning the details of this case are encouraged to immediately call Karnes County Game Warden Chad Moore with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at 830-583-5075.
