Man killed on I-37

OAKVILLE - A man was fatally injured on Monday, Sept. 23, at 8:45 p.m., according to a report from the Department of Public Safety.

Jeffrey Lee Kirk of Roundrock was driving a 2010 Chevy Silverado northbound on the Interstate 37 ramp near mile marker 60, five miles south of Oakville, when he struck a pedestrian, Eric Blaine Ross, a 48-year-old male of Center.

Ross was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:10 p.m. by Justice of the Peace 3 Judge Jim Lane.

He was taken to Galloway Funeral Home in Beeville and next of kin was notified Tuesday.
