It was a victorious homecoming as the Three Rivers High School Bulldogs defeated the Yorktown Wildcats 36-6 on Friday, Oct. 11.

However, it was a rough start for the Bulldogs when the Wilcats scored their first and only touchdown in the first 57 seconds of the game.

Bulldog Coach Randy Palmer said the team was scored on during a turnover play and they needed to get their defense up.

The first quarter ended with the Bulldogs down 6-0 in the first quarter but they came back with a bite in the second quarter.

"We got our drives going on offense," Palmer said. "When we get that going, we're tough to beat."

By halftime the score was 22-6.

The third quarter didn't go as smoothly for the Bulldogs, but they kept the Wildcats at bay and managed another touchdown, taking the score to 29-6.

The final quarter ended the game on a high note and a score of 36-6. The Bulldogs are now 1-0 for district play.

"District games are huge and that one won't be the exception," Palmer said.

The Bulldogs will be up against Kenedy on Friday night in Kenedy.
