Mrs. Cantu was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Erasmo and Delfina Duran De Leon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Roberto, Jaime and Pablo De Leon.
Survivors include her husband, Rogelio Cantu of Beeville; five sons, Rogelio (Velma Vela) Cantu of Beeville, Rolando (Mary Garcia) Cantu of San Antonio, Arturo (Julia Garcia) Cantu and Ricardo (Mary Jane Amador) Cantu, both of Sabinas Hidalgo, Mexico, and Jose Alfredo (Enriqueta Munoz) Cantu of Houston; two daughters, Evangelina (Rogelio) Cantu Armendariz of San Antonio and Maria Elena (Simeon Garza) Cantu of Beeville; a brother, Juan Erasmo (Elva) De Leon of Monterrey, Mexico; 32 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary was recited there at 7 o'clock that evening
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Our Lady of Victory Church with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ricardo Cantu Jr., Josue Cantu, Jose Alfredo Cantu, Juan Enrique Cantu, Rolando Cantu, Rogerio Cantu, Alberto Almendariz and Damien Garza.
