Antonia Cruz, 94, of Three Rivers died on Friday, May 8, 2009.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1915, in D’Hanis to Jose Maria and Juanita (Rodriguez) Urrabazo. She married Aniseto Cruz, Sr. on Dec. 19, 1931. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Our Lady of the Rivers No. 2376 and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, Cecilio Cruz, Ramon Cruz and David Cruz, her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her children, Salome (Mae) Flores of Three Rivers, Pauline Garcia of Three Rivers, Marcus (Alice) Cruz of Three Rivers, Cipriano (Emma) Cruz of San Angelo, Vickie (Arturo) Martinez of George West, Abraham (Gloria) Cruz of San Antonio, Aniseto (Gloria) Cruz Jr. of Corpus Christi, Celia (Miguel) Ruiz of Three Rivers and Raul (Teresa) Cruz of Austin; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Juan Urrabazo and Fred Urrabazo, both of San Antonio; and a sister, Mary Urrabazo Hughes of San Antonio.

Visitation was held on Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers from 5 to 7 p.m.

A rosary was recited at 7 o’clock that evening led by Deacon Anthony Postert.

Court Our Lady of the Rivers No. 2376 led a memorial presentation where they placed a white rose and stood guard beside her casket.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers, with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Interment followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
