Joel R. McCan, age 60, died on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 following an extended illness.

He was born to Minor Dickey and Annie (Shives) McCan on April 20, 1948 in Three Rivers. He was employed as a truck driver in the oilfield industry.

He is survived by his spouse, Terrie McCan of Three Rivers; three sons, Joel (Debbie) McCan of Kerrville, Kevin (Rachel) McCan of Junction, James McCan of Junction; a step-son, Clint (Julie) Rawlinson of Houston; a daughter, Anna Melton of Three Rivers, four step-daughters, Joyce Tomlinson of Jacksonville, FL, Carrie Purlia of Junction, Tammy (Kenneth) Walpole of George West, and Jennnie Rawlinson of San Antonio; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers.

Graveside funeral service was held on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Calliham Cemetery in Calliham.
