She was born in Live Oak County on Dec. 10, 1928. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel Franco Alvarez Sr. of Mathis; three daughters, Lupe (Eugenio) Paiz, Carmen (Estevan) Garcia and Rachel (Tony) Lopez, all of Mathis; three sons, George (Sheila) Alvarez of Victoria, Daniel (Velma) Alvarez of St. Hedwig and Mario (Gracie) Alvarez of San Antonio; six sisters, Rosa Lopez, Carolina Lopez, Angelita Lopez, Elvira (Guadalupe) Reyna, Baudelia (Jimmy) House, Adrianna (Edward) Mendez, all of Three Rivers; six brothers, Bernando (Carmen) Lopez of Three Rivers, Clemente (Juanita) Lopez of Robstown, Dionisio Manuel (Irene) Lopez of Del Rio, Santos (Beatrice) Lopez of Wimberly, Floyd D. Lopez of Spring and Felipe Lopez of Flatonia; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dobie Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow n the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Erica Paiz, Dimitri Sergio Garcia, Miguel Paiz, Dominic Alvarez, Andrea Garcia, Lisa Lopez, Enrique (Rico) Paiz and Daniel N. Alvarez III.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Masses at Sacred Heart Church.
