Harold Ivey, 86, died July 6, 2009 at a local nursing home following an extended illness.

He was born to K.B. and Marie (Dolan)) Ivey on June 9, 1923 in Fabens.

Mr. Ivey was a pecan farmer and had orchards in the El Paso area. He also proudly served our country in the US Army in WWII.

Survivors include: his spouse, Mary Lou Ivey of George West; a son, Arthur “Art” Harold Ivey, Jr. of Tornillo; two daughters, Catheryn Ann Whatley of Leander, Dorothy Strachan of Ft. Hancock; two brothers, Charles Ivey of Tornillo and James Ivey of Clint; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rosary and funeral mass for Mr. Ivey are pending, and will be conducted in El Paso, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in El Paso.
