Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

The Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas serves 26 counties from Victoria to Corpus Christi and Laredo to the Rio Grande Valley. The jurisdiction covers slightly less than 32,000 sq. mi. The GSGST has offices in Harlingen, McAllen, Corpus Christi, Laredo and our members come from diverse ethnic, linguistic and socio economic backgrounds.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the Highest Award for Junior Girl Scouts. This award requires the girl to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on her community. Working towards this award demonstrates her commitment to helping others, improving her community and the world.

Renee Dobie from Girl Scout Troop 9308 has earned her Girl Scout Bronze Award. The title of her project was Pets and People. She organized a pet parade at a local nursing home. Renee enjoyed seeing how much the residents of the nursing home enjoyed the Pet Parade.
