Due to the generous gift to the West Theater Project in George West by Valero Energy Corporation, work is underway on the auditorium of the theater.

The stage has been rebuilt and enlarged. At present the ceiling is being renovated. The committee is anxious to begin work on getting the auditorium ready for lights and sound by installing the necessary electrical work.

The committee would like to urge all who would like to purchase a seat to do so. The money raised will enable the project to go forward. Each seat costs $100 and the purchaser’s name will be placed on a plaque in the foyer.

“Buying a seat is a great way to honor someone—perhaps a person who worked in the theater or who attended the movies years ago,” said Mary Ann Pawlik, Renovation Committee Co-chair. Each seat sold will get us one step closer to completion. We are also selling “sidewalk stars” which is another way to honor a loved one, continued Pawlik.

Virginia Horton, co-chair would like to remind everyone that the theater will be such an asset to our whole community as plays, concerts, meetings, children’s plays, recitals, and storytelling will brighten our lives.

Send theater project money or donations to Mary Ann Pawlik 183 CR 384, Geo. West, 78022
