The Yearling Band has distinguished itself again in a very big way. They advanced to the state concert band finals of the Outstanding Performance Series by taking first at the region level and first and second at the area level.

The state finals were held at the Texas Bandmaster’s Convention in San Antonio on July 26th. The band’s march placed 7th in the state and their concert selection placed 6th. This process began back in April at U.I.L. competition. There are over 400 class C junior high schools in Texas. Placing in the top 10 in both categories is a fantastic feat only achieved by the truly elite groups of young musicians.

Congratulations are in order for all the members of the band. Once again they have given our community something to be proud of!
