On Wednesday, Aug. 5, the Longhorn Booster Club held a short meeting at the George West Cafeteria to discuss last minute preparations for Blue & White Night.

Dorothy Taylor, Treasurer/Merchandise reported that jackets were in and vehicle decals were in as well. These items and many others were available at the Booster Club merchandise tent this past Saturday night.

Many Booster club members, officers and other Longhorn supporters were out in full force setting up and conducting sales of great food, and Longhorn merchandise.

Bo & Cathy White provided the meat for the burgers; Super S donated the buns; Alice Whitley and Edie Katzfey provided the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese while Dave Moore and Burt Ruiz cooked the burgers. Chips and water were provided by the Booster Club.

Diane Reagan and Gwen Holt filled the ice chests while other members helped set up and sell food and merchandise. The “Bleacher Babes” decorated the teams’ meal sacks.

The most exciting and important part of the evening was cheering on the Longhorn young men as they start the season giving the team their best.

Thanks go out to many individuals and businesses who donated their time and/or products to make the night a great success. Join us at our next meeting Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the cafeteria.
