The Three Rivers Middle School marks Oct. 20-24, as the first year the school will participate in the annual Week Without Violence.

Week Without Violence is a multi-organization effort to educate the community on the incidence and prevention of violence in all 50 states and thousands of communities like Three Rivers. The goal is to eliminate violence in our society.

This is a week where we at Three Rivers Middle School challenge our community to focus for this one week on alternatives to the violence that affects our society. The focus areas for the week are:

Monday — A day of remembrance

Tuesday — Protecting our children

Wednesday — Protecting our seniors

Thursday — Eliminating racism and hate crime

Friday — Replacing violence with sports, recreation, and fun.

Join in decreasing violence.
