The best way to kick-off Storyfest weekend is to begin early—really early that is. The Free Community Breakfast will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Friday morning and last as long as the delicious breakfast tacos and hot, fresh coffee does, or until 9 a.m., whichever comes first!

Cousin Jerry King, of San Antonio’s KKYX Radio fame will be broadcasting his morning show live from the front porch of the Buck West House. Storytellers will gather to fortify themselves with breakfast before bravely going out to the schools to face those children on Halloween morning. All your friends, neighbors and co-workers will be stopping by to enjoy the food and camaraderie before going to work and school—you won’t want to miss out!

Last year’s breakfast was very well attended, in spite of the heavy fog that meant you had to follow your nose to the feast, as you certainly couldn’t see anything. Here’s hoping you’ll be driving by the Buck West House on Hwy. 281 and see a large crowd gathering and remember to stop; but, even if you can’t see us, stick out your nose and take a whiff—you’re sure to smell that fresh coffee perking and sausage and eggs cooking—drawing you right into the parking lot. Pour a hot cup of coffee, or cold glass of juice, grab a fresh taco and get your weekend started off right. Take a few minutes to listen to the radio show and welcome our storytelling guests into the community. What a great way to start off the 20th Anniversary celebration of Storyfest!
