Luther Wallace Ryan, 88 of George West, died on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1920 in Kenedy, to the late John Woodard and Jettie Ethel Reagan Ryan.

Luther married the late Lois Goetz Ryan on Oct. 4, 1944 in Leonard Wood, MS, with her passing on July 21, 1991 and then married the late Helen Marie Ryan on Sept. 15, 2001 in George West, with her passing on Nov. 14, 2006. He retired in 1977 from Pittsburg Plate Glass Company as a foreman and latter as a consultant for the company. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the George West Masonic Lodge & Eastern Star, SAR and a member of The First United Methodist Church George West.

He is survived by daughter Diane(Ernest) Moldenhauer of Boerne; grandsons Matthew James(Danielle) Moldenhauer of Renton, WA., and William Wallace Moldenhauer of Boerne; and sister Sue Nance of Three Rivers.

He is preceded in death by son Michael Blaine Ryan, sisters, Woodie Ritchie and Maria Holloway and brother G.D. Ryan.

Visitation was held at the First United Methodist Church in George West, on Thursday, Sept. 17, form 6 - 8 p.m. Services were held on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in George West, with the Rev. Doug Hinchcliff officiating.

Intemerment followed at the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, at 1:30 p.m.
