Bellows, Hessong win debate tournament at Carroll high

The Three Rivers High School cross-examination debate team of Bradley Bellows and Jesi Hessong. won the Mary Carroll High School (Corpus Christi) Texas Forensic Association (TFA) speech and debate tournament on Sept. 26.

This was the first TFA tournament that either student had ever competed in.

Bellows and Hessong posted a record of six wins and zero losses on the day and won the tournament cx debate championship, earning them eight TFA points.

In order to qualify for the state TFA tournament which will be held in El Paso this Spring, a team must earn ten points during the debate season. The Three Rivers debate team will next compete at the Houston Bellaire High School TFA Qualifying Tournament on Oct. 23 and 24.
