Alejandro Marroquin, 66, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born to Pedro and Celestina (Lopez) Marroquin on Aug. 21, 1943 in George West. He was a foreman in the oil field industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Francisco Marroquin.

Survivors include his wife, Maria E. Marroquin of George West; two sons, Francisco M. Ayala, and Marco A. Marroquin both of George West; two daughters, Lucy (Carlos) Martinez of Beeville, Irene (Jose) Rodriguez of Three Rivers; two sisters, Corina Palacios of George West, and Celia Cuevas of Sarita; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary recited that same evening at 7 p.m., at St. George Catholic Church in George West.

Funeral Mass was held on Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m., at St. George Catholic Church in George West with burial following at the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West.

Pallbearers include Marcos Valadez, Adrian Martinez, Austin Rodriguez and Carl Chambless

Arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
