Loma Bruce, 96, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at a local nursing home.

She was born to Frank and Olla (Davis) Valentine on March 10, 1913 in Fischer County. She was a cook for the TRISD for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son John Wesley Bruce, one sister Angela Churchill, three brothers Bo Valentine, Clifford Valentine and Otha Lee Valentine.

Survivors include one son Billy Wayne (Connie) Bruce of Three Rivers; one daughter, June F. Carter of San Antonio; two sisters, Maggie Nolen of Three Rivers, Pearline (Tom) Hines of George West; seven grandchildren: Cynthia Bruce of Portland, OR; Darren(Cindy) Bruce of Olympia, WA.; Debbie (David) Van Cleave of Three Rivers; Tammy (Pat) Copeland of Three Rivers; Sharon Saenz of Three Rivers; Ronnie Bruce of Texas City, and Michael Bruce of Friendswood; 17 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandcchild; and nummerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Simmons Community Church in Simmons.

Burial will follow service at the Simmons Cemetery, Simmons Community.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Muniz, Logan Muniz, Ryan Saenz, Ronnie Bruce, Michael Bruce and John Hines.

Under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
