Antonia Ybanez, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 in a local nursing home following an extended illness.

She was born to Refugio and Oralia Alaniz on Oct. 3, 1928 in Austin.

She is survived by her husband, Francisco B. Ybanez of Alice; a son Nicolas (Janie) Ybanez of Robstown; three daughters, Mary Lou (Raul) Garcia of Alice, Anita (Mike) Cardona of Portland, Norma Alvarez of Alice a brother Francisco Alaniz of George West; four sisters Theresa Gamez of Port Lavaca, Lupe Reyna of George West, Refugia (Ray) Gutierrez of George West, Janie Priedas of Victoria; nine grandchildren Raquel Ybarra, Jennifer Garcia, Mark Cardona, James Cardona, Angelica Garza, Laura DeLeon, Amy Cardona, Christine Alvarez, Ashley Alvarez; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 4 - 6 p.m., in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers, with a rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:30 p.m., at the St. George Catholic Church in George West.

Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m., at the St. George Catholic Church with burial to follow in the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West.

Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Homes of Three Rivers.
