Dorothy Nadine Reynolds Light, 90, died in Carbon on Feb. 14, 2010.

She was born Oct. 16, 1919 in Moriarty, New Mexico to John Stephens and Myrtle Easter (Welch) Reynolds. On May 10, 1940, she married Earl Hamilton, who died on August 3, 1965. She married John Franklin Light on Oct. 1, 1967, in Oakville. Dorothy was a member of the Carbon Baptist Church and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Dorothy’s primary role in life, other than that of wife, was nurturer of children. She took in and cared for a nephew, a great-niece, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as a few others.

In addition to both husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by daughters, Neomia Delores Tooke and Janice Beatrice Light; by sons, Ted David Hamilton and twin infants; by siblings, Luttie Beatrice Haley, Lottie Ruth Hines, Goldie Geneve Graves, Eloise Margaree Rogers, Leroy Robert Reynolds, Mildred Lorene Russell, Delores Oretha Larsen and Johnney Edward Reynolds.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, George Washington (Leone) Reynolds of Portales, New Mexico; son, Clyde Earl (Frances) Hamilton of Carbon; daughter, Valeria Anette (Tommy) Duckworth of Ennis; stepson, Leonard Franklin (Eileen) Light and by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation was held at Summers-Bakker Funeral Home in Eastland on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 6–8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at Carbon Baptist Church. Dorothy will be buried at Murray Cemetery at Carbon.
