Bring your kids with their wish list and let them visit with the jolly man himself. Please bring your own camera if you would like a photo to remember the occasion. Celebrate the joy of the season with your community and enjoy holiday music, refreshments and see the excitement on the children’s face when Santa arrives on the fire truck, announced George West Chamber Executive Director, Becky Allen.
“Remember when you are doing your holiday shopping, shop local first! If you check around at all our great retail stores in George West and all of Live Oak County you’ll be surprised at what you will find. Great gift ideas and sale prices abound here, and you’re helping your neighbor at the same time,” said Allen.
“If you are wondering why you should shop at a locally owned business’ first, consider this: Far more of the money spent at local businesses is reinvested in your community. A dollar spent locally turns over several times in the community while a dollar spent elsewhere is gone forever. Shopping local is environmentally friendly, too: it creates less traffic and pollution,” continued Allen.
The GW Chamber Board of Directors will meet at noon on Dec. 10 in the Buck West house. The Chamber office will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 22 - Jan. 2.
