Mary Lillian Brown, age 87, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from an extended illness at her residence in George West.

She was born to John and Clara (Pawlik) Korczynski on Sept. 19, 1921 in Yorktown. She was a homemaker and raised her children and step-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil Brown Sr., a step-son Milton Brown and grandson Edward Thomas Brown.

Survivors include a son, Virgil Thomas Brown, Jr., of George West; two step-sons, Howard Brown of Canton, Johnny Ray Brown of the Houston area; one daughter, Marylee (Robert) Lowrie of George West; two step-daughters, Margie Barrey, Virgie McCan of Smiley; one sister, Ola Goebel of Round Rock; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 5, from 6-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., that evening at Roberson Funeral Home in George West.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m., at the St. George Catholic Church in George West. Burial will follow at the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West.
