The Boys and Girls Clubs of Live Oak County announced a coaches clinic will be held for officials, coaches and assistant coaches to prepare for the 2009 Boys and Girls Clubs Basketball league which begins in January.

The clinic will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the George West High School gym from 2-3 p.m. League staff will issue team rosters and equipment, cover officiating and rules for coaches, and answer questions.

We are expecting to have 24 teams with over 240 players this year, so volunteers are needed to run the clock and be scorekeepers. No experience is necessary - training will be provided by league officials prior to games. Games will be held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., in both Three Rivers and George West from Jan. 10 – Feb. 28. For questions regarding the basketball league, call the Boys and Girls Clubs Office at 786-1400.
