He was born in Three Rivers on Jan. 30, 1934, to Consuela Flores Tanguma and Narciso Tanguma Sr. He married Anita Garcia in Three Rivers on April 3, 1955. He was a carpenter and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Domingo Tanguma, and sister, Diamantina Valadez.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Tanguma of Three Rivers; three daughters, Roseanne (Dominic) Gutierrez of Kingwood, Rachel (Roland) Palacios of Alvin, and Rita (Lonnie) Anzaldua of Three Rivers; three sons, Martin (Virginia) Tanguma Jr., Richard (Norma) Tanguma and Ramsey (Missy) Tanguma, all of Three Rivers; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Abelina (Erasmo) Moya of Three Rivers and Connie (Roland) Martinez of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers, Narciso (Annie) Tanguma of Three Rivers and Erasmo (Janie) Tanguma of Victoria; one sister-in-law, Elena Tanguma of Oxnard, Calif.; and one brother-in-law, Santos Valadez of Calliham.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Galloway & Sons chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Interment followed at Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Albert Garcia, Gerardo Romero, Joe Ruiz, Santos Valadez Jr., Claudio Cantu Sr., Ruben Moya, Mario Tanguma and Robert Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were Freddy Cadena, Steve Sotelo, Alonzo Briseno, Marin Tanguma and Randy Saenz.
