4-H Livestock places second at AggieFest judging meet

4-H members who competed in AggieFest on Nov. 13, are (first row) K’Cee Ponce, McKenzi Simmons, Ryan Speis, Holley Nelson, Morgan Simmons, Kodye Neel, (second row) Dalton Klare, Madalynn Nixon, Reagan Ruddock, HC Neel IV, Derek Ressmann and Marcus Salinas.

The Refugio County 4-H Livestock Judging Team traveled to College Station on Saturday, Nov.13, and competed in the AggieFest Contest. In the Intermediate Division there were 119 individuals and 29 teams competing.

The team of HC, Kodye, Dalton and Reagan placed second Overall and second in Swine. The team consisting of Derek, Madalynn and K’Cee placed fifth in Beef. HC placed seventh Overall, first in Beef and third in Sheep. Dalton placed first in Swine while Kodye placed eighth.

In the Sub-Junior Contest there were 109 individuals competing. Ryan placed eighth in the Swine contest.

The team will be traveling to San Antonio in December to compete at the Bexar County Livestock Show.
