Celebrate the holiday season at TAMUCC’s many events

Navidad de los Niños

The College of Education at TAMUCC will host the Westside Business Association’s 27th annual “Navidad de los Niños” (Children’s Christmas Festival) on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center, 2021 Agnes St.

Children may have their portraits taken with Santa and play games at various activity booths. Children will receive goodie bags and have chances to win bicycles and an assortment of other prizes. The event is free and open to the public. .



Holiday Gala Concert

The Department of Music at TAMUCC presents the 10th annual Holiday Gala Concert on Sunday, Dec. 5.

Children and families are invited to the pre-concert festivities in the lobby, scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. This will include games, a raffle and pictures with Frosty the Snowman.

The concert will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature students, faculty and a wide variety of holiday favorites. Tickets are $10 for adults. Children and students with SandDollar$ ID get in free. All proceeds from the concert benefit music department scholarships.

Cowboy Christmas

Singing cowboy poet Michael Martin Murphey will again celebrate the holiday season at TAMUCC when he brings his highly acclaimed “Cowboy Christmas” concert back to the Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m.

Reserved-seat tickets are available at http://tamucc.tix.com or by calling 361-825-ARTS (2787) to charge by phone. Tickets are $35 and $25 with $7 tickets for children and students with ID.
