The 2010-2011 members are Amber Gray, Azalea Garcia, Joseph Perez, Nick Valenzuela, Bethany Fricks, Catie Steele, Shelby Sheffield, Adrianna Briseno, Haley Birkey, Josie Gonzales, David Carmichael, Alex Garcia, Wesley Vickers, Kristina Foster, Hannah Niemann, Summer Scrimpsher, Scott Carter, Anna-Alicia Vega, Michelle Martinez, Kendall Wendland, Kris Perez-Sandoval and Garrett Mase.
The National Junior Honor Society is an elite group of students across the United States with high achievements in scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service. The new inductee’s have increased WJHS’ NJHS member ship to 22.
Inductees entered the ceremony as Florencio Lara, the Woodsboro ISD band director played “Cannon in D” by Pachelbel on the piano. NJHS President, Anna-Alicia Vega, conducted the ceremony. Brian Hicks, WJHS principal, presented certificates and pins to the new inductees. After the ceremony, honorees and guests were treated to an array of refreshments. The fruit tray and cake were made by Margaret Freeze and Pam Harris of Bingo Cake Bakery of Woodsboro. Ninfa Rodriquez also provided assorted cookies and pineapple sherbert punch.
“NJHS would like to say a special thank you to Mr. Lara for his beautiful piano playing and to Jesse Garcia for setting up everything needed for the ceremony and then making it back into the cafeteria afterward,” said Kathy Schneider, advisor.
