Samantha Dilbeck, formerly of Woodsboro, will perform in the classical ballet, “Sleeping Beauty”, which will be presented by the Corpus Christi Ballet on April 9-10 at the Selena Auditorium in the American Bank Center.

A large cast will bring this full length fairy tale to life with colorful costumes, magical scenery and exciting dance and drama.

The well-loved story is about good versus evil, and a beautiful princess who is finally rescued by the love of a handsome prince.

Princess Aurora will be danced by Shannon Cruz, and her prince will be guest artist Michael Levine of Sacramento, Calif. The good fairy will be portrayed by Elizabeth Hooper, and Mia Carvalho will take the dramatic role of the wicked fairy Carabosse.

Other fairy tale characters appearing in the final wedding scene are Puss in Boots and the White Cat, a pair of Bluebirds and Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf.

The music of Tchaikovsky and the talent of the large cast make this a rich and moving experience for all ages.

Performances are set for Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m.

Tickets range from $11.50 to $31.50, with discounts for students, military and seniors. Tickets are available through all Ticketmaster outlets or the American Bank Center box office.
