Activities focused on patriotism and family will take place throughout the day at the Runge VFW Post, located on East Aransas Street, including a BBQ meal, singing of the National Anthem, games for kids, a talent show, silent auction and more.
More than 20 businesses have pitched in to make this year’s event a success, including HEB, which donated nearly $2,000 for the evening’s fireworks.
“You can’t get more patriotic than the Fourth of July,” Pablo Nunez with the Runge VFW said. “We’ve always stayed involved because of the nature of the event. The activities are very independence oriented because that’s what we’re all about.”
