Kimberly Cuellar wins championship in spelling bee

Kimberly Cuellar, of San Antonio and formerly of Woodsboro, is the champion speller of John Glenn Elementary School.

The school’s spelling bee competition was held Jan. 22. By winning, Kimberly advanced to the San Antonio Express News 58th Annual Regional Spelling Bee on March 12. Kimberly was among 170 other students in grades four through eight who competed.

By being eliminated she missed her chance of going to Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

Kimberly is the daughter of Ruben and Cecilia Cuellar and granddaughter of Anita Cuellar of Woodsboro.
