The Moods, who performed 1950s and ’60s rock ’n’ roll at proms and dance halls in Bee County 30 years ago, will return to the stage again this month.

Now billed as The Original Moods, the band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Bee County Expo Center.

“The Moods was a very popular band in the area at one time, and have recently reunited to entertain those of us “young” enough to remember the fun we had ” said Lou Trlica, administrator of the Expo Center. “They played at a lot of proms back when I was in high school.” Tickets will be $5 per person at the door. Four days after The Original Moods perform, the Al Amin Shrine Circus will entertain audiences at the Expo Center on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

The circus will perform shows at 4:15 and 6:15 p.m. in Arena 1, located beside the main auditorium.

Also returning to the Expo Center in the near future is the monster truck show (Feb. 27 and 28) that drew hundreds of spectators last spring.

“We had a very good turnout for the monster truck show last year and we expect a good turnout this year as well,” said Shelby Rosales, office manager of the Expo Center.
