Mrs. Schulenburg was born April 30, 1924, in Gonzales County to James Edward and Melinda Jane Ivy Smart. She was a retired waitress and a member of Friendship Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda J. (Carrol) Renard and Brenda Crawford, both of Victoria; a son, Louis Frank (Lou Joyce) Schulenburg III of Beeville; a brother, E.J. (Leola) Smart of Grapeland; grandchildren, Kenneth Renard, Letha Tenee Millsaps, Stacy D. Renard, Louis Frank “Frankie” Schulenburg IV, Amy Bishop and Scott Trlica; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Friendship Bible Church with Rev. Kenneth Parker and Rev. Dr. Christian Kiwia officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Kenneth Renard and Frankie Schulenburg; nephews, Eddie Alsobrook, R. Wayne Frieda, Larry J. Pullin and David Jenkins; and great-grandsons, Bryce Wickliffe and Eddie Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers were Howard Pullin, Chuck Smart, Anthony Schulenburg, Joshua Boggs, Clifton Wilkinson and Leslie “Buddy” Kopplin.
Memorials may be made to The Friendship Bible Church Building Fund or the organization of donor’s choice.
