Refugio Elementary School will conduct registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten today (Thursday, April 21), in the new RES library building.

Pre-K and Kindergarten round-up is set for May 6 at 2 p.m. in the cafetorium.

To be eligible for Pre-K students must turn four and kindergarten students must turn five by or on Sept.1.

Refugio ISD will offer a half-day morning program for Pre-K and a full day program for kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school-year.

Parents of prospective students wishing to be considered for the Pre-K program must have a social security card, an original birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residence, and all additional paperwork filled out as needed by the school district. Paperwork may be obtained at registration.

Parents who are interested in the Pre-K program should plan to attend registration and have their paperwork completed on that day.

Parents unable to attend registration may pick up paperwork on Friday, April 22.

Paperwork will not be given out prior to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

Students will be considered for the program in the order that completed paperwork is received.

There is a limited number of spaces for the Pre-K program. Some students may be subject to a tuition-based program for the half-day Pre-K program. School transportation will not be provided.

Students accepted into the program will be notified by the end of June.

Early registration will be conducted from 4-6 p.m. on April 21, and from 1-4 p.m. on all other days until May 6, with the exception of April 25-28, when TAKS testing will be held.
