Kimmons’ presentation is entitled “Enhancing the Academic Achievement of Students by Forging a Partnership Between Home, School, and Community to Help Save our Children & Save our Schools.”
The workshop will follow a meal and student performances celebrating Cinco de Mayo. The Mexican meal of rice, beans, salad, and enchiladas is made possible through the generous donations of Frank Hosey, Taqueria Guadalajara, Henry’s Mexican Food, La Ribera, Moya’s Café, PTA, and L&L BBQ and is free to any parents or community members of Refugio ISD wishing to attend Dr. Kimmons’ session.
The performances will include Pre-K and Kindergarten singing, speakers in grades 3-6, and Folklorico dancing by Krystal Garcia.
“Please join us for the free meal and the student performances,” said Lisa Herring, coordinator.
The festivities begin at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 5.
Dr. Kimmons will conduct his session immediately following from 5:30-7:30pm.
Free childcare will be provided by the high school cheerleaders for parents wishing to attend the session.
If you have any questions, please call Lisa Herring at 526-5400 ext. 2009.
“We hope to see you there!” Herring said.
