Century 21 and the Parent Involvement Committee put together Pawnee ISD’s first Cinco de Mayo celebration last Thursday, May 5.

There was a great turnout by parents, students, staff, grandparents and more. The music brought back lots of memories for many people and some couldn’t help but to get up and dance.

Ben Farias played a few songs on the guitar; Effie Herrera sang a mariachi song; and Jr. Farias and los Artisticos played a few songs that got everyone’s feet moving.

Mrs. Hessletine’s Pre-K class danced to the song “Cinco de Mayo,” and Mrs. Crawford’s first-grade class danced the “Raspa.” Joe Cruz, Jose Munoz and John Jacob Carillo attempted “El Grito,” but Joe Cruz was the winner.
