Teacher institute offered

Teachers will have the opportunity to attend The Wonders of Water in the Environment (WOW) training by the Teacher Institute this summer.

Interested educators are asked to mark their calendars from June 27 to 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Region III Education Service Center in Victoria.

The institute has been offered to area teachers for the past several years and is currently open for enrollment to teachers from schools across the Coastal Bend, including schools in Refugio, Victoria, DeWitt and Calhoun counties.

The WOW-E Institute will focus on water quality and quantity issues in the region and is designed to be a combination of lectures and field trips.

Teachers will be provided classroom activities and content that they can use in the classroom and will receive 30 hours of Professional Development Credit.

Teachers who finish all four days of will be awarded a $100 stipend.
